Commercial Collaboration Agreement between HCR and Cyncron
The two well established full service European CROs, Harrison Clinical Research and Cyncron, have signed a commercial collaboration agreement following a very successful business collaboration through 2007.
Harrison Clinical Research and Cyncron were both founded more than twenty years ago by medical doctors. They have both developed as strong, regional CROs and have expanded and diversified their services intensively through the last 10 years.
Besides all Clinical Operations, Harrison Clinical Research offers services in Data Management and Statistics, Quality Assurance and Auditing, Training, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, IMP services and Medical Writing. From its Munich headquarters, Harrison Clinical Research also runs a 36 bed Clinical Pharmacology Unit for phase I and IIa studies and a unit for out-patient studies. Harrison Clinical Research has established offices in many countries, including the big five: Germany, Italy, Spain, France and UK, and is also present in Benelux, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Austria and Eastern Europe, as well as Israel. There are also representative offices in Japan and the USA.
Cyncron offers all Clinical Operations Services in the Nordic countries with headquarters in Copenhagen and offices in Sweden and Finland. They run a 60-bed Clinical Research Unit for phase I and IIa studies and ambulatory activities. Besides Clinical Operations Cyncron offers the same services as HCR with complementary expertise in Biometrics and DMC services.
"This is an important step forward in achieving a Pan-European platform," says Dr. Francisco Harrison, founder and CEO of Harrison Clinical Research."Harrison Clinical Research and Cyncron supplement each other extremely well giving optimal synergy for the benefit of our clients and their projects. This initiative is an important step in our strategy: Local expertise with global reach. Through this collaboration our clients are granted access to patients and all clinical research services in and outside Europe through one contracting party only, and still with the benefit of working with a local CRO with local knowledge and expertise," he adds.
Dr. Poul-Martin Haahr, CEO of Cyncron stresses the importance of this collaboration also combining the substantial experience of Harrison Clinical Research in early studies with the track record of Cyncron in large phase III outcome studies. "Our collaboration will strengthen our competencies and possibilities, and will attract clients needing an experienced European partner for their drug development. Together we can deliver large projects that none of us could handle alone as quickly and effectively "he adds.
